Melbourne Foodie Weekend Itineraries
We proudly acknowledge the Bunurong as the first people to love, live and dine on the lands on which Attica sits today.
We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Peoples were the first sovereign nations of Australia from time immemorial, and they never ceded this sovereignty.

Friday
Start your romantic weekend with a martini at Apollo Inn. Dimly lit and cosy, it’s intimate without being too quiet, perfect for meaningful conversation. The staff is warm but unobtrusive, ideal for first dates, long-time lovers or solo date nights. Afterwards, head to Elio’s Place for duck liver parfait, focaccia, and oysters at the bar.
Saturday
Unwind with a massage and soak at Sense of Self in Collingwood, then stroll through the Abbotsford Convent gardens and enjoy a long lunch at Cam’s Kiosk. We’ll see you at Attica for dinner.
Sunday
Grab sandwiches from Hector’s Deli and a bottle of wine from Bijou Bottle Store, then head to the Royal Botanic Gardens for a lakeside picnic. Jump on the tram and finish the weekend with dinner at Old Palm Liquor in Brunswick East. “It’s a fire-lit, moody venue that nails the romantic vibe, whether you’re by the fireplace or close to the bar”.

Friday
5pm – Apéro at Gimlet (the classic Gimlet or Cavendish House Martini are my go-tos).
7pm – Stroll down to Embla for a wood-fired dinner paired with great local wine. I love watching the chefs at work at the bar seats.
9pm – “Catch a live jazz set at Paris Cat to ease into the weekend.”
Saturday
10am – Breezy brunch at Studley Park Boathouse, surrounded by river views and rowboats. After brunch, cross the suspension bridge for a stunning walk along the river before leaving the park.
1pm – Wander the aisles of South Melbourne Market. Agathé Patisserie for buttery pandan croissants and a stop at the seafood stalls are a must.
3pm – Beat the crowds at Kumo Desserts for the fluffiest soufflé pancakes you’ll ever taste.
6pm – Sunset alfresco dinner at Marion Wine Bar. The Baked Pipe Rigate with vodka sauce is a stand-out.
8pm – A good laugh at Comedy Republic’s Main Stage.
10pm – Wind down with late-night cocktails at Caretaker’s Cottage.
Sunday
9am – Breakfast at Florian, there is no wrong decision when choosing what to eat.
10.30am – Walk to The Rose Street Artists’ Market and Fitzroy Market for distinctive finds and local snacks, with just a three-minute stroll to Pinto Tiramisu for tiramisu perfection.
12pm – Refined pub lunch at Marquis of Lorne.
2pm– Stroll along St Kilda Pier, and if you’re lucky, spot the adorable little penguins.
3pm – Afternoon snacks at Stokehouse Pasta & Bar — $2 oysters, a side of fries and a drink seated outdoors by the beach.
7pm – Cosy dinner at Tipo 00, where the pasta is as fresh as it gets.
9pm – Ending the weekend at Eau-de-Vie, having a smoked old fashioned always feels like a treat.

Friday
5.01pm – Leave work, turn phone to do not disturb.
5.30pm – Apollo Inn for cocktails. ‘The martinis are very good, so it’s hard to have only one before dinner’.
6.30pm – Dinner at Il Bacaro, probably the best Italian in Melbourne. The pistachio semifreddo is essential.
9.30pm(ish) – Head to the hotel: The Larwill Studio in Parkville.
I love the Art Series Hotels, the rooms are all beautiful. Try to get a room with park views – you have big day tomorrow so get some quality sleep.
Saturday
10am – Breakfast at RESIDENCE at the Potter Museum.
11am – Look around the museum. 65,000 Years: A Short History of Australian Art is on until November 23 and is wonderful.
12.30pm – A quick lunch at Bellota in South Melbourne.
2:00pm – Matinee at the Melbourne Theatre Company. Much Ado About Nothing starts on November 14 and looks fantastic.
5pm – Wine o'clock at Embla. Sit at the bar, have a few glasses of what they recommend; if you’ve never heard of it, all the better.
7pm – Dinner at The European: get a table in the corner in the shadows and feel like a rockstar, drinking Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
10pm – Conveniently stumbling distance around the corner is Circl Wine House – perfect for a nightcap. Order a bottle of Benoît Marguet Champagne.
Easy to be back at the hotel by midnight.
Sunday
10am – Breakfast at the hotel.
11.30am – Walk across the park to Melbourne Zoo and see the new baby giraffe.
1:30pm – Enjoy a seven-course lunch at Kazuki's, and take your time. Alternatively, there’s a five-course option. Add the crab omelette with sauce Americaine, and take full advantage of the wine list.
5pm –Alight walk to Bar Bellamy for a negroni to freshen up and reflect on the wonderful weekend. A second negroni to steel yourself for the week to come. Turn off do not disturb.

Friday
We start in St Kilda with a pit stop at Piccolina for a scoop, or two, of ice cream – my go-to has always been chocolate. Then a walk along the pier. Maybe you can spot a penguin and a glimpse of the sunset.
Then jump on the 96 tram and head into the heart of the city to enjoy dinner at Osteria Ilaria. I recommend the Fazzoletto with pine nut and salt bush.
There’s still time for a cocktail and oysters, so stroll into the Pearl Diver for a dry martini. Rest up and go back to QT hotel.
Saturday
During the day we head to the Ian Potter Centre at the NGV gallery on Flinders Street. The Rigg Design Prize is on until February 2026. Afterwards, we walk to Hosier Lane to check out the latest street art, but be careful walking here; I’ve tripped many a time.
Early evening, you can enjoy some tapas and a good glass of red wine from the MoVida team. You can’t go wrong with a slice of jamon iberica. There are three different MoVidas, but my favourite is the original, with its bustling atmosphere and striking look. “It’s a great date location, particularly when you sit in the middle of the bar in front of the team preparing it all’.
As the night progresses, take a walk through the city and have a boogie at the Music Room hiding in HER. Cocktails are always on point. ‘This vinyl and whisky bar has an energetic yet intimate vibe’. Jump on the website for a calendar of DJs. Before bed, enjoy a last glance at the city and its colours at night-time on the HER rooftop.
Sunday
Head north of the city and start with a Mont Blanc at Good Measure in Carlton. They’re always playing some cool tunes, whether you’re in the mood for a coffee or a cocktail.
For dinner or early evening, head to Geralds Bar. It’s a great place not only to wind down but to connect. The staff is incredible, but the food goes above and beyond. The Basque spritz is delicious. The menu always changes, but my absolute favourite is the chicken schnitzel. It’s certainly a place to make memories with someone.
Later, visit our friends at Above Board in Collingwood; they know how to dispense just the right amount of attention. I always listen to their recommendations, which keeps things interesting.. To finish off the night, visit Carlton’s Pidapipó for a sweet treat.

Friday night
Take advantage of happy hour from 3-6pm at Ines or Blackwoods Wine & Cocktails in Windsor.
Saturday
Breakfast at Rustica on Chapel Street. Go for their avocado toast, or a cinnamon scroll from Q Le Baker. You’re just around the corner from the Prahran Market, if you want a walk around afterwards.
For dinner, Studio Amaro for carb heaven. They have beautiful homestyle Italian pasta and fantastic focaccia, or Normandy Wine & Grill for a more elegant dinner and a good steak. Start with one and finish with the other if you can handle it.
Sunday
Sunday is a day for hiking around the Yarra Bend or heading to the Dandenong Ranges, stopping off at the Windsor Deli or Hugo’s for a sandwich on the way.
And to finish the week, on my quest for the pubbiest pub in Melbourne, a stop at the Inkerman Hotel for a pint of lager and a Parmi with chips and salad – or ‘Parma’, as Victoria deems it.
